People management for postdoc staff

The photos are not sharp. Maybe this is the best way to express the whole event, so that we can remember the image but not the details.

I have reorganized these photos in my Picasa album. Please take some time to have a look and also leave your opinion here. Anyone likes to have some pictures with higher resolution can also email me.

Just like to say to all who have participated/organized this course that I enjoyed it, and thanks to you all.

Life before Xmas

Greetings,

I don't know about you guys but I am going to spend my Xmas in Switzerland with three of my friends.

Just thought you'd like to know.

I think Switzerland is an ideal place for honeymoon. Sadly, for three men there is only one woman. Gooosh!

Quote a line from Stephen's email:
Personally I'm cancelling Xmas. No presents and no cards for anyone.

I totally agree with Stephen. hmmm...

Recently I attended several courses and seminars in the University. I think I have more `free' time to do this without having to worry that my project is delayed. I simply need to renew myself from time to time.

Bogus! I just need to relax! I wanna play~~~ I don't wanna work!

Well... i need to get back to myself. where am i?

I just came back from the film Good Luck Chuck with Emily. This is a movie really gets my mind. Jessica Alba looks so lovely in it.

Let me remind myself.... I was talking with Emily three days ago. We chat about the beginning of July, and September, on a bottle of red wine from France. The talk was serious initially. Thanks Christ it turned good in the end. Sometimes I speak in a way that I don't know I hurt someone, and, sometimes, these things were not being considered carefully before they were done.

Actually, if you talk to someone on the phone, without seeing their face, is quite different from that face to face already, not saying if the message is transferred by even more indirect methods. I must keep this in mind.

Yet another, maybe I was educated this way up, it still mean nothing that I can project my values upon others, or think that they should behave like I imagine. After this conversation I realized not only change one's mind is difficult, but also fundamentally think about whether it is right to change it.

But to say the truth, I do think face to face talk is important, however it seems, after BBS has trained me typing, unbelievably I get used to type to friends for life stories.

Anyway, I wish this trip be memorable.

Take care and have fun with you lovers.

Trip to Paris --- the introduction

Thanks to everybody that helped me in France. :)

This article, and the consequent series, are basically the direct translation made by myself from its Chinese version.

This journey, for me, is a loose solo vacation. Well, however, as the way of the looseness, the whole journey certainly satisfied me in the purpose full relaxation of my mind and body. It also allowed me to take things easy.

In the beginning, I was planning the rough schedule of my trip. I was thinking to go to Paris first and come back from Nice. So, I did not really make any plan, and I bought the tickets to Paris and from Nice very naively. I was simply hoping I can get the ticket from this to there, and if NOT, that will mean I am in trouble. The reason I did this is because that I believe planning is never catching up with changing. If so, it is better not plan too deeply for some elaborated dinning, visiting and shopping schedule. The reality proved me I was right. As I planned loosely, the trip was flexible and full of surprise.

The main purpose of this trip, to be honest, was to attend the wedding of Joanna and Pierre set somewhere one-hour distance to Paris, close to Rouen. The exact time of the ceremony is 3pm of 28 April. Joanna did not let me know the precise events that are gonna happen. The only thing I have to do is bring myself to France, and to Rouen; after that, I am all theirs.

To review my trip, maybe it was worthwhile to collect some information of possible visiting tourist spots, but I still don't think it is necessary. Sometimes, you simply need to go there to know what you'd like to see; at least it work for me. When I arrived musée du Louvre, I knew that I wasn't eager to spend one day for the artifacts, cuz I don't want to lose the chance of seeing the whole Paris for a museum.
